LOS ANGELES — It takes at least half a dozen soulful songbirds to pay tribute to Patti LaBelle.
Anita Baker, Joss Stone, Jennifer Hudson, Dionne Warwick, Yolanda Adams and Fantasia are among the performers set to help honor LaBelle at the United Negro College Fund's "An Evening of Stars."
LaBelle, 64, will be recognized for her career achievements and longtime support of the educational organization. Previous UNCF honorees include Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones and Lou Rawls.
The event, Sept. 13 at the Kodak Theatre, is open to the public.
