First of all, thank you again for finally placing out your gospel cd this past year. We have been waiting far too long for this project. Bless you. My favorite Christmas song that you've done that I've heard was done several years ago when you did Christmas in Washington for President Clinton and the song was titled...DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR, when you were accompanied by the Eastern High School Choir. Yes Lord, I did hear you and truly the annointed was on that song as you and that choir sang that song. May you continue to have favor on your life and your future projects.
Juanita Miller: My favorite Patti LaBelle Christmas Song is "It Is The Most Wonderful Time Of Year". Because it is a up lifting song to play on Christmas Day to get you dancing to. This song reminds me of my last Christmas when we had a wonderful time the family was here and we did a family puzzle together and had a big great dinner and last we had dessert and some popcorn and watched the basketball game it was just great. This song makes me want to sing and do the old school dance. It's Just A Wonderful Song to me.
Jeffrey Franz: The first time I listened to the CD 'This Christmas,' I was away at over seas (feeling lonely that I could not be with my family for the holidays) and it completely brightened my spirit and raised my sole to new levels. Patti LaBelle is one of a few of masterful musical artists (because she is so genuine and warm, both on and off stage) that can literally send surges of adrenaline throughout your body when you watch or hear her perform. There is something so unusual and cataclysmic about her voice and the way she delivers a song. Patti doesn't just sing a song, like a competitive race car driver, she steers it, she controls it, she makes you feel triumphant afterwards, like she is by your side every step of the way to the finish line. 'This Christmas' like all of Ms. LaBelle's albums is packed with musical selections that speak to the heart. The title cut, This Christmas, is by far the best rendition of the song that has ever been recorded, what with the magnificent orchestration and wonderful use of deep bass drums in the background, This Christmas, very nicely demonstrates Ms. LaBelle's vocal power and unmatched lyrical phrasing (her unique way of delivering individual words or groups of words in any given song and is what sets her squarely apart from other vocalist and where she has no rivals.) My FAVORITE selection on the album 'If Everyday Could Be Like Christmas,' The album 'This Christmas' has something for every listener, black or white, young and old. -Every time I listen to 'If Everyday Could Be Like Christmas' I just want to get up and start singing. I love the message of the song, the contagious beat and those raucous, over the top Patti vocals, and if you turn up the song loud enough, her vocals could clear out your sinuses, forget about the need for cold medicine! This is Christmas is a fabulous style that is pure Patti LaBelle.
Tiffany Marie Skinner: What do the lonely do for CHRISTMAS
Growing up in a house hold that didn't celebrate christmas I really didn't understand what was so special about the day so I never really got to enjoy christmas as a little girl. When I moved out Philly from my grandmothers home my mother than started buying us gifts and toys for the holiday but something was still missing. WHAT IS CHRISTMAS ALL ABOUT? I ask myself it seems like at that age all you do is open up your gifts go around the neighborhood and see what your friends got. Not until I got older that it hit me that christmas was more than that. When I got in my teenage years I really remember my step family and how they all get together and people come from out of town and they sit and laugh and eat and my favorite part is when we have the singing contest. Tell the truth nobody can sing the greatest but they not that bad. Later on in life I had my daughter and not one year do I miss this day to share with her. Now my favorite thing is to wake her up as early as possible act like I'm sleep for her to wake me than we go down stairs for her to open up her gifts. I recently quit my place of employment because I wasn't happy and I was stressed out at the age of 25. I forgot that christmas was around the corner and I won't be able to get her what I really wanted her to have but because I am blessed to have a good family and friends that understood where I was coming from they made sure that my daughter still would be able to have a christmas. "What do the lonely do for Christmas" is a song that I love Miss Patti to sing because lately I have been stressing out about christmas and when I here that song it makes me feel good and blessed that I have people in my corner that have my back on some things. I really can't say thats its really all the lyrics that hit my ear I think it's more how she sings the song. Where I hear the song it's like she is screaming TIFFANY get up hold that chin and it's going to be ok you have plenty of time to make it up. Now you probably as me how do a song talking about being lonely inspire me well stress can lead into depression and depression can lead into loneliness and I don't want to go there. I still want to be that same mom that wakes her daughter up than go back to sleep for her daughter to wake her up. I know that this isn't a christmas song but I just wanted her to know that her son "It's a new day" inspired me to quit my job everytime I will go to work in the morning it seems like is was always on. Miss Patti I thank you and you help me make t one of the best decisions of my life thank you and god bless. Happy Holidays to those who are reading this.
