Sassy's Winning Butterfly Story:
I have been following Miss Patti for decades. It started in Baltimore at the Royal theater. My mom wouldn't let me go because to the show because it would be late but we would hang around early to watch the performers go in. I always liked the sound of the Bluebells. I realized that Miss Patti's voice was the distinct one and I loved the sound. After I got older and joined the Navy I got to see Miss LaBelle in New Orleans. It just made me a bigger fan. I always listened to her music, I was always the first to get the record, 8 track, cassette and now CD. I still have most of those items (at least what we didn't lose in our moves). I have seen Miss Patti on both coasts, and in the south. In California, Maryland, South Carolina, Louisiana, Florida at concerts and on every TV appearance, and movie. Apparently, I listened to it so much my children are now fans. My oldest son listens to her, my daughter went to a concert with me and gave her flowers and listens to her as well. My youngest son saw her on Cribs I believe and became a fan because he saw her riding a motorcycle and thought that she was too great. So really I guess we are inter-generational fans! Our family members are Patti fans and always will be. Thanks for everything.
