Glorious-One
I have been a fan of "Mama Patti" for as long as I can remember. My mother used to listen to her music all the time and I just got hooked. When I was about 16 years old, my mother bought me the Look to The Rainbow concert on tape. I watched that tape every day over and over again for a long time. Well I still have that tape to this day and I still watch it. I have her concerts, the best of Patti" videos, a copy of motown 25, every song that she has made since she went solo, and some from Labelle, pictures galore of her, a Patti's butterflies t-shirt, a P.B mug, the new Back to Now cd,and her books which are very inspiring. I listen to her everyday, watch her concerts, or look at her videos on youtube, my kids think I'm obsessed but I think I just love "mama Patti! I have a picture of her as my wall paper on my cell phone, and the default picture on my computer.. When she was honored by U.N.C.F, I called my job and told them I couldn't go in just so I could watch the show. That might be obsession but I still think it's love. I also went through many of the same things that she went through according to her book. I lost my mother when she was just 44 years old, ( my mother like Patti thought she was gonna die young because her mother died young(33). However she did die young unlike patti. Live on for many, many, more Mama Patti.

I was a very shy girl and still is, even the situation that occured with her when she was in the fifth grade happened to me when I was in kindergarden exactly the same way and I was thinking the same thing that she was thinking, So I I feel a great conection to her.After I lost my mother I fantasized about her adopting me like she did her boys. I was a great dreamer as a child. I am listening to her Love, Need and Want you as I type along with other songs of her's. I read "patti's pearls" several times. That book deffinitely has lifelong pearls. I had to read it again and again to get the messages in my spirit because they help me through the days as situations approach. Patti's Pearls will forever be a part of my life. Ever so often I will read it again to keep the pearls fresh in my heart. I have even persuaded friends to read it (they don't like to read) and they loved it, so some of them wanted to read the book Don't block the Blessings after reading "pearls" and loved it as well. my dream and prayer is to one day meet "mama Patti" and have a nice friendly conversation with her.

I think Patti is the greatest singer to this day. I have not heard a voice that can top her's or even come close. I get shivers down my spine listening to her. The messages that she send through song are very powerful, and has meaning unlike some of the stuff that's played today. I am not saying that it's not good music, I am saying some of it doesn't have a meaningful message. When I listen to Patti's and Labelle's music I listen to the message, and it is powerful! Every track on Back to now is powerful and I pray that Labelle get what the deserve from it. Awards, recognition, praise,millions, and everything there is to obtain. Somebody loves you Mama Pappi and that somebody is me!
